Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develops STIHL Inc.’s annual, operational and strategic sales plans with a multi-year outlook. Leads key sales personnel on design, discussion and development through monitoring volumes, model mix, market shares, key issues, discussion and commentary.
  • Interacts with several key departments (Sales and Operations), as well as customers (Distribution, Executives, Germany) in formulation of optimal strategic positioning of future demand requirements.
  • Reviews sales data to produce regular sales reports on volumes, volume changes, model mix changes, market conditions and/or other relevant marketing trends.
  • Coordinates volume/model mix changes with planning teams.
  • Responsible for various executive and global reporting, analysis, and communication. 
  • Will work with Envista on implementation of new SIOP process to ensure improvements in fill rates and better reporting overall.
  • Oversees and participates in the gathering of sales data.
  • Reviews forecasts, field stock levels, and evaluates MLE/SAP demand-management based on past trends, strategic objectives, input from various sources and customer requirements. 
  • Oversees/monitors the input of forecasts into the MRP system.
  • Determines customer product allocation in tight supply conditions.
  • Directs and develops department managers and employees in Sales Planning, Branch Planning and Customer Service through monitoring of progress to goals, KPI reviews, issue resolution and project management.
  • Directs Customer Service department. Manages service levels with customers and customer service personnel, ensuring STIHL quality standards are met and customer satisfaction levels are high.

Specifications

  • Master’s Degree in Sales, Demand Planning, Supply Chain or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in a sales management role
  • Previous forecasting or demand planning experience
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Demonstrates strategic thinking
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • SAP experience required
  • Lean Six Sigma
  • APICS preferred
  • Travel Requirements: 25% - 50%
