  • Compensation: $141,000- $178,000/ year with bonus opportunities and potential for annual merit increases. Actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.

About You

You are a strategic and creative marketing leader with a passion for building strong brands and delivering compelling customer experiences. You have a proven ability to develop, execute, and communicate integrated brand marketing strategies that drive growth, elevate brand equity, and create meaningful connections with customers.

In this role, you will lead STIHL’s brand and retail creative efforts, ensuring a consistent and compelling brand value proposition, creative direction, and messaging across all customer touchpoints. You thrive at translating business objectives into impactful marketing campaigns and creative solutions that support STIHL, its distributors, and retailers while empowering professionals and homeowners with trusted landscaping, tree care, and construction solutions.

You bring expertise in brand strategy, creative development, and cross-functional collaboration, with the ability to influence stakeholders and align teams around a shared vision. You are equally comfortable thinking strategically and executing tactically, using insights and data to optimize performance and maximize impact.

As a secondary area of responsibility, you will oversee STIHL’s unique Marketing Advantage Program (MAP), guiding the development, execution, and continuous improvement of cooperative marketing initiatives across the Inc./Distributor/Branch/Retailer network. You understand how to balance national brand objectives with regional market needs, ensuring marketing investments are activated effectively and deliver measurable results across channels.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Strategic Alignment: Ensure all national and regional brand marketing activities, investments, and communications align with STIHL Inc.’s overarching corporate goals and objectives.
  • Campaign and Marketing Creative Leadership: Align with global leadership on campaign priorities and planning and provide direction for national and regional campaigns.   Manage creative development of campaign and other marketing materials as required.  Manage associated budgets, production shoots, and performance reporting to drive brand consistency and measurable impact.
  • Vendor & Agency Management: Coordinate creative efforts with internal stakeholders and external agencies. Evaluate, recommend, and participate in the selection of vendors and agencies supporting national and regional marketing programs. Oversee agency budgets, invoicing, and cost transparency in collaboration with Purchasing and Stammhaus financial controls.
  • Brand Planning: Develop and communicate the annual Brand Marketing Calendar to guide national and regional marketing initiatives.
  • Creative & Executional Excellence: Ensure all creative assets and deliverables align with STIHL’s brand and product marketing vision, maintaining consistency across all touchpoints.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with digital marketing, sales, product, and e-commerce teams to ensure the needs of STIHL Inc., distributors, branches, and retailers are effectively met.
  • Reporting & Communication: Lead campaign performance reporting with inputs from channel owners. Serve as the primary contact for Stammhaus marketing leadership, providing regular updates on the annual brand marketing plan, spend, and budget progress.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop brand and regional marketing team members to ensure strong performance, professional growth, and alignment with STIHL’s marketing strategy.
  • Strategic Counsel: Offer insights, feedback, and recommendations to the VP of Marketing, Executive Leadership Team, and distributor/branch marketing staff to strengthen marketing effectiveness and brand performance.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned to support overall marketing and business objectives.

Specifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree minimum requirement in the fields of: Marketing, Communications, Business, Brand Strategy, Consumer or Market Sciences
  • 7+ years of experience preferred
  • 15-30% travel required
  • Deep understanding of brand marketing strategy development and execution, including the design, management, and implementation of regionally activated programs.
  • Proven ability to balance and manage the needs and priorities of STIHL Inc., regional branches, distributors, and global headquarters.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and relationship-building skills, with a collaborative leadership approach.
  • Strong judgment paired with creative problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate creative concepts into integrated, multichannel marketing campaigns.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and timelines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated success fostering cross-functional collaboration and building alignment across complex organizational structures.
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to navigate change while maintaining focus on key business outcomes.
  • Proven experience in brand development and marketing management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
