About You
You excel at overseeing the procurement, scheduling, and execution of order details for goods and services essential to production and operations, ensuring everything aligns with established guidelines. You provide critical administrative, research, and project support to teams analyzing material performance, supplier capabilities, and cost efficiency. You are skilled at training employees, setting clear performance goals, organizing and assigning work, and fostering a productive, motivational environment where people thrive.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive production plans for a portfolio of items, incorporating network lead times and available capacity in a high-volume vertical manufacturing setting.
- Create short- and long-term end-to-end production and capacity plans for items manufactured internally across multiple integrated stages, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Under limited guidance, define optimal capacity levels and resource allocations to maximize service levels, minimize working capital, and reduce costs.
- Serve as a key driver in maintaining that all parts and components are available for finished goods assembly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations and logistics, to anticipate bottlenecks and implement proactive solutions in a sophisticated manufacturing ecosystem.
- Foster close working relationships with multiple departments, such as Production Managers, Quality Assurance (QA), Procurement, and New Product Introduction teams, to ensure aligned and efficient production planning.
- Develop, coach, and train production planners to strengthen analytical skills, planning discipline, and overall capability within the team.
- Utilize advanced planning tools, with a focus on SAP, to model scenarios, simulate capacity constraints, and generate actionable insights for continuous improvement.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, capacity utilization rates, throughput, and cost variances, and adjust plans accordingly to support high-volume production demands.
Specifications
- Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years related experience preferred. Performs work under minimal supervision.
- Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of MRP system; SAP applications preferred. (e.g., SAP PP, MM or similar modules) for planning, scheduling, and capacity management.
- Relevant certifications such as APICS CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management), CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional), or equivalent are preferred.
