About You
Purpose
To provide customer service to U.S. branches and distributors as it relates to shipments, product availability, invoicing and pricing of STIHL Inc. and/or outside vendor products. May work primarily with either STIHL products or with drop-ship and direct ship orders from outside vendors. To support the sales planning team as well as the product planning and import departments
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinates shipments and fulfils orders for STIHL Inc. and outside vendors. May be responsible the order placement and fulfillment process for drop-ship or direct orders to branch/distributors. Reviews orders as they come into the system, checks availability and corrects failed line items. Corresponds with customers or branches/distributors by email or phone regularly regarding issues such as, product availability, pricing, order receipt/discrepancies and account reconciliation. Coordinates special requirements with the appropriate party to ensure proper handling, shipping, prioritization and timing of deliveries. Responds to customer inquiries on order status, shipping dates, product information and availability and follows through to ensure all orders are completed successfully. Allocates product when necessary and helps customers locate products from other locations as needed. May provide support by ensuring order visibility in the system which includes shipping schedules, container numbers, arrival dates, entry of shipping notices, availability follow-up and/or prioritization. Works with IS to automate key processes. Responsible for troubleshooting incomplete orders in SAP, issuing credits/debits for shipping discrepancies, coordinating returns and compiling service level/backorder metrics. Assumes additional related responsibilities as needed.
Specifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years of related experience preferred.
- Performs work under general supervision.
- Handles moderately complex issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and/or Access.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- SAP experience preferred.
