Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyzes market data, including product specific sales, overall sales volume, demographics, and competitive product releases and pricing strategies for assigned product lines.
  • Schedules meetings and travels to branches, distributors and dealers to introduce or to follow up on product launch / promotion efforts and to exchange information with the field sales forces of distribution in regards to basic product-related needs, end-user input, and the general market environment.
  • Works closely with Technical Services and Customer Service in reviewing formal complaints and assists with resolutions working with Technical Services and Andreas STIHL Product Management.
  • Participates with cost accounting, marketing management, and other internal personnel in the development of product pricing. Participates in the development of sales forecasts with sales planning.
  • Participates when possible in trade shows, end-user presentations, and other similar events by presenting assigned product lines.
  • Develops presentation and materials for a wide variety of audiences.
  • Assists the training department in the development and implementation of product knowledge training materials.
  • Responds to product-related informational requests from internal and external departments/personnel and serves as the primary contact for customer service issues pertaining to the product line.
  • Assists other Product Managers with customer service requirements as needed.
  • Prepares summaries of important trends for management use.
  • Maintains currency with respect to technical product-related knowledge and professional skills by attending training classes and seminars as needed.
  • Assumes additional related responsibilities as needed.

Specifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of related product or brand marketing experience preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft office software, including Word, Excel, Power Point & Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation skills
  • Ability to travel an average of 5 days per month of overnight travel by road and/or air.
