About You

  The role of the Supply Planner is to develop and execute an inventory plan for a portfolio of items based on demand, network lead times and available inventory. Responsible for developing both short- and long-term end to end supply chain plans for items produced internally and/or externally. In coordination with front line management, the role will define the appropriate inventory levels and associated required capacity to optimize service, working capital and costs. This position is a key driver in ensuring finished goods availability by assuring adequate inventory is available to fulfill customer demand while minimizing inventory, waste and supply chain costs. 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop inventory plans for raw materials/production supply, accessories, finished goods, OEM and spare parts by utilizing current demand inputs and collaborating with manufacturing, demand planning, commercial partners, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure inventory is managed according to constraints and meets internal targets aligned with the business strategy.
  • Develop and maintain capacity plans, production schedules and/or delivery schedules to ensure the efficient delivery of inventory, service, and cost objectives. Provides support of supply chain reviews/decisions via these activities.
  • Monitor and track inventory levels, service levels, surplus/obsolete inventory, vendor performance, and any other relevant KPIs to identify variance from goals. Use all available resources to analyze root causes and recommend possible actions to improve KPI results.
  • Coordinate with other departments (Production, Quality, Engineering, etc.) in material and mold procurement, engineering change management, new product launches, etc. Coordinate with suppliers as is required to review and analyze operations, evaluate short- and long-term abilities to meet STIHL expectations via a logistic audit. Coordinate outbound and inbound flow of materials between STIHL Group Subsidiaries.
  • Analyze and propose changes to supply chain master data elements impacting the supply plan, such as safety stock settings, lead times, network sourcing, etc. demonstrating strong knowledge of ABC analysis techniques.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide regular updates on inventory projections. Lead weekly supply review meetings to discuss supply shortages and recommend mitigation strategies. Escalate to leadership any issues that arise.
  • Monitor and evaluate internal production and/or supplier performance. Recommend and support process improvement projects to drive better efficiencies and yield improvement in KPIs.
  • Coordinate with production, quality assurance, supplier quality assurance, engineering, demand planning, warehouse and others as is applicable to address any changes to supply plan and solve any shortage scenarios that occur.
  • Provides regular training and instruction including, but not limited to, departmental procedures, inventory management, MRP analysis, and SAP
  • Support of new item product launches and/or discontinuations to meet customer expectations.
  • Identifies ways to improve supply planning processes and tools for assigned areas.

Specifications

  • Experience with MRP; Strongly Preferred
  • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • CPIM, CSCP, or Lean Six Sigma preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain or related field
