About You
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages multiple engineering projects simultaneously with limited supervision within defined timelines.
- Manages entire life cycle of assigned capital projects including: developing project specifications, working with suppliers and purchasing to gather quotes/estimates, determining budget requirements, completing and submitting decision templates for management approval, kicking off project, completing design review, managing build, running-off new equipment, and validating new equipment once delivered to STIHL Inc.
- Researches and designs new methodologies and techniques to improve quality of product, error proofing, speed of production and cost-effectiveness of production methods. Recommends and implements methods, techniques and technologies to reduce downtime and improve quality.
- Creates engineering designs and builds. Modifies equipment based on designs.
- Plans, schedules and conducts testing and critical evaluation of all products for engineering changes and new parts/products. Makes and implements recommended changes based on evaluations and findings.
- Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow. Designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Ensures procedures and plans are maintained; monitors and evaluates performance; initiates recommendations and corrective action where needed.
- Trains employees in proper work methods for safe and efficient performance of job duties.
- Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts. Evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Confers with management, engineering, and other departments regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- All other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Specifications
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering
- Working knowledge of CAD software (Solidworks and AutoCAD preferred)
- PLC experience (Siemens preferred)
- Project management experience
- Presentaton skills and experience using Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, etc
- Hands on processing experience in particular field of engineering
- Minimal travel requirements
