Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Join us for an exciting summer! We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Polymers team as an intern.
As a Polymers intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting pad print equipment upgrades, 5S initiatives, and fixture and workstation design within the Injection Molding Department. This role offers exposure to automation retrofits, problem-solving, and practical design work while contributing to real production improvements.
In this role, you will support projects related to pad print equipment improvements, including retrofitting existing automation to accommodate a new ink cup system. You will assist with installing and troubleshooting components across multiple automation platforms, each requiring customized solutions, while also contributing to 5S efforts and SolidWorks-based fixture and station design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pad print equipment improvement projects within the Injection Molding Department
- Install and adapt components to retrofit existing automation systems for a new ink cup brand
- Troubleshoot installation issues and support customized solutions across multiple automation platforms
- Assist with 5S initiatives to improve organization, efficiency, and standardization
- Design fixtures and workstations using SolidWorks to support production and automation needs
- Contribute to general department support activities and continuous improvement efforts
Internship Goals:
- Gain hands-on experience with equipment upgrades and installations
- Develop practical design and fabrication skills using SolidWorks
- Build exposure to capital equipment planning and implementation
