About You

 

As a STIHL Inc. Quality Specialist, this individual will solve problems and apply corrective action using a broad range of analytical techniques. They will monitor processes, develop improvements and interface with various departments as required. Additionally they will provide summaries, analysis and reports for management review and plan and assist in the resolution of complex quality issues as required.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs a broad range of assignments of high technical complexity, scope and frequency.
  • Applies effective organizational skills and efficient planning to accomplish objectives.
  • Inputs and verifies data related to measuring and data processing equipment.
  • Analyzes data and generates routine and specialized reports and spreadsheets.
  • Performs tests, measurements, and analysis of parts and processes as a part of a complex quality problem resolution.
  • Provides corrective action to include analysis, reporting, material control and disposition.
  • Acquires, develops and maintains technical data and records to ensure compliance with company and departmental protocols, procedures and standards.
  • Performs test equipment program configuration, data acquisition, maintenance, calibration, and repair, as required.
  • Investigates, sets up, and qualifies new equipment or revision to existing equipment to improve accuracy, efficiency, and/or capability.
  • Responds to various problems or technical questions.
  • Proceeds with minimum supervision and direction on normal test assignments working closely with other departments.
  • All work affecting product quality shall be competent on the basis of appropriate education, training, skills, and experience.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or needed.

Specifications

  • Two year degree with CQT and/or OPE certification, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years related experience (quality assurance, metallurgy, metrology, blueprint interpretation).
  • Further related experience, depending on department assignment:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office programs, including databases and spreadsheet development;
  • Advanced knowledge in Visual Basic and/or CMM programming;
  • Proficiency in statistical software configuration and data acquisition;
  • Proficiency in technical mathematics, dimensional measuring, gage R & R, and problem solving skills.
  • Frequent standing, occasional walking or sitting.
  • Occasional using of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reaching with hands and arms, and stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
  • Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
