- Compensation: $56,500-$72,000 per year. Actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
About You
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Reviews and manages the collection of accurate and approved timekeeping records, employee reimbursements, bonus payments, other miscellaneous payments and deductions prior to the deadline for payroll processing.
- Designs and delivers timekeeping and payroll-related training and assistance to all end-users, exercising judgement on content and approach based on observed compliance gaps.
- Submits payroll input files to UKG Managed Services and serves as an internal point of contact for routine processing questions, corrections, and discrepancy resolution.
- Acts as back-up support for global and expatriate payroll data collection and processing.
- Responds to escalated employee questions from UKG‘s Employee Engagement Center, providing STIHL-specific context and resolution for issues beyond the Center's scope; loops in the Senior Payroll Analyst or Payroll Manager for complex or policy-interpretation matters.
- Partners with Human Resources and Finance to troubleshoot issues, determine ways to meet new and changing business requirements, and adapt payroll systems and processes as needed.
- Identifies and evaluates opportunities for process improvement, recommending and leading implementation of approved changes in partnership with the Payroll Manager and team.
- Maintains ongoing education and knowledge of payroll laws and regulations (federal, state, and local) to ensure compliance for STIHL inc.
- Leads assigned components of monthly and annual closings and internal operational and external financial audits, ensuring documentation of internal controls and compliance with company policies.
- Manages routine UKG system maintenance tasks (e.g., updating pay codes, deduction codes, etc.), building familiarity with system configuration over time
- Partners with the HR Analyst and other HR team members with ad-hoc projects that intersect with payroll, providing data pulls, administrative, and system support as needed.
- Creates ad-hoc reports from variety of systems, to include attendance hours, G/L, payroll, and monthly reporting to management.

Specifications
- 3-5 years of related work experience required
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- FPC/CPP preferred
- Experience supporting end-of-year payroll closing activities, including W-2 preparation/review, year-end adjustments, and reconciliation of annual totals
- Experience with internal and external payroll audits, including self-auditing practices, documentation of internal controls, and responding to auditor requests
