Mold Engineering - Project Manager

This individual will design injection and blow molding tooling with high complexity, coordinate procurement and transfer of molds and related items, ensuring that all design and quality standards as well as project objectives are met.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Designs complex molds and perform design reviews of complex molds for injection and blow molding.
- Prepares and administers mold specifications and request for quotations for molds and associated parts.
- Leads, coordinates and schedules the implementation of engineering changes for molds.
- Procure molds and mold components world-wide according to STIHL Inc. standards.
- Leads mold design for manufacturing initiatives with R&D and other stakeholders.
- Identifies, justifies and coordinates mold improvements.
- Injection and blow mold tooling life cycle management.
- Conduct mold-flow analysis.
- Coordinates, schedules, documents the transfer, evaluation and release of new molds and associated molded parts from international and domestic suppliers.
- Maintains records, files, and other documentation pertinent to special and regular assignments performed.
- Performs onsite craftsmanship reviews of new injection molds and debugs technical issues at vendor facilities in Asia and other locations as required.
- Participates in the development, implementation and production release of new product development projects.
- Interact with quality department and purchasing department, ensuring quality standards and delivery deadlines are met.
- Interacts with finance to ensure budget and cost controls are in place.
- Maintains currency with respect to technical and supervisory skills by attending training classes, special technical and administration courses, seminars, exhibits and trade shows as needed.
- Follows all defined safety procedures and uses judgment to ensure safe work methods.
- All work affecting product quality shall be competent on the basis of appropriate education, training, skills, and experience.
- Assumes additional related responsibilities relating to administrative work and other assignments as required.
Specifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline.
- 6+ years relevant experience.
- Up to 10% travel to international or domestic locations
