Manager, Raw Materials Warehouse Operations


As a family-owned company, it’s the PEOPLE who continue to make STIHL a successful, world-class brand. STIHL is seeking a highly motivated, organized, leader to Manage our Raw Material Warehouse, at STIHL’s corporate headquarters in Virginia Beach! 


The Manager, Raw Materials Warehouse will oversee and coordinate the raw materials warehousing activities of STIHL in compliance with space availability, production output, order requirements, and business plans. Will lead in the overall strategic design and direction of warehousing operations, facilities, and expansion. To ensure the training of employees, setting of performance goals, organization of work, and maintenance of a productive and motivational work environment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversees and participates in daily warehouse operations, assisting with the resolution of raw material, product packaging, or order fulfillment problems. Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current and accurate.
  • Reviews inventory reports, production schedules, sales order reports,and other available material and devises plans for current and future material storage.
  • Ensures accurate inventory records of location, count, and date received. Inspects and maintains physical condition of warehouse and equipment.
  • Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as Production, Production Planning, and Purchasing.
  • Leads in the development of proposed warehousing systems or facilities. Prepares reports and recommendations and presents to upper management as necessary.
  • Oversees and participates in the implementation of new or revised material logistics systems, such as computerized inventory tracking, gravity racks, laser guided vehicles, hydraulic lift systems, etc.
  • Oversees the maintenance of appropriate levels of labor, the general conformance with STIHL employee rules, the issuing of warnings, and the administration of disciplinary measures when necessary.
  • Participates in internal programs, such as communications, vacation schedules, job evaluation, employee performance reviews, wage administration, etc., as needed.
  • Maintains currency with respect to technical and supervisory skills by attending training classes, special technical and administration courses, seminars, exhibits and trade shows as needed.
  • All work affecting product quality shall be competent on the basis of appropriate education, training, skills, and experience.
  • Assumes additional related responsibilities as required


  • 4 year bachelor’s degree in related discipline (Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Busines Administration) or experience and eduction.
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Six Sigma Black Belt highly preferred
