Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Join us for an exciting summer!  We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Machining team as an intern.

 

As a Machining intern, you will support hands-on continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, organization, and inventory management. This role offers exposure to scrap analysis, root cause determination, 5S improvement activities, and Kanban-based spare part management within a manufacturing environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with scrap analysis and root cause determination activities
  • Support 5S fixture improvements and workplace organization exercises
  • Help develop and maintain spare-part Kanban procedures
  • Evaluate machine failures to define possible preventative measures to increase OEE and reduce costs.

 

Internship Goals:

  • Develop a strong understanding of 5S and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Gain exposure to structured problem-solving using DMAIC method
  • Build foundational SolidWorks design and drafting skills
  • Develop inventory and Kanban system knowledge
