Imagine working side-by-side with industry leaders in your field of study. Imagine building upon the skills you've learned in the classroom through real-world hands-on experience. 

 

The intern will help design and implement automation changes in the 3pc crankshaft pack-out area to accept a new style wash/transport basket. Tasks will include: 

  • SolidWorks modeling and design
  • Fanuc robot programming, process analysis and improvement techniques
  • Project management
  • If time permits, analysis of smaller diameter raw bar stock in our swiss lathe machines as a cost saving initiative.  
  • Other small tasks/projects as assigned.

Internship Goals

  • Gain a better understanding of process improvement in a manufacturing setting through analysis, design, and implementation.
  • Develop effective communication, teamwork, and time management skills to collaborate efficiently with colleagues and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Gain hands-on experience with the machinery used in the manufacturing process, such as CNC machines.
     

Internship Requirements:

Academic Year: Junior or above

Area of Study: Mechanical Engineering

Preferred GPA: 3.0+

Software Experience: SolidWorks, 3D CAD modeling design, Project Management, Office 365

Internship Information:

Work Hours: 8:30am-5:00pm

Department: Machining

Compensation: $20/hour
