This individual will organize and assign maintenance work. They will oversee and participate in the upkeep and repair of production equipment and fixtures; providing assistance to less experienced maintenance technicians and resolve difficult or unusual problems.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Organizes and assigns work to best utilize available skills, knowledge, experience, and labor hours.  
  • Work will be assigned in such a manner as to ensure most efficient use of all resources while providing most favorable results of quality, workmanship and availability.
  • Participates in the design and testing of new machines and stations. 
  • Analyzes machine or fixture for malfunctions to expedite and coordinate corrective procedures. 
  • Ensures minimal production down time due to equipment problems.
  • Maintains appropriate levels of labor in accordance with skill requirements, work levels and schedules, labor hour and training programs. 
  • Uses technical expertise to determine solutions for equipment problems. 
  • Schedules and supervises these and other repairs.
  • Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualizes product to determine actions required to maintain and repair machines and fixtures.
  • Determines equipment spare parts, analyzes and schedules preventative maintenance. 
  • Initiates equipment upgrades.
  • Develops specifications from general descriptions for specialty tools and draws or sketches design of product.
  • Reviews predictive and preventive maintenance services; ensures adherence to all standards including timing and quality of work.
  • Monitors production, work completion, and/or personnel performance to ensure proper repair / work order completion with respect to all quality standards. 
  • Reviews work methods and recommends procedural or process changes to better accomplish department goals. 
  • Responds to procedural problems or technical questions with respect to quality, operations, or other requirements.


  • High School Degree or equivalent and 2 years related formal training.
  • 10 years related experience.
  • Frequent standing, occasional walking or sitting; using of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reaching with hands and arms, and stooping, kneeling, or crouching. 
  • Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
