The focus of this internship will be learning about HR Operations team at STIHL Inc. does specifically, the Intern will support the current HR Ops Coordinators by first learning the major tasks and completing tasks or shadowing in these areas:

 

  • HR Reception
  • Company Store
  • Mail Rom
  • Help plan and execute the Family Picnic
  • Help plan and execute the Employee Summit
  • Develop internal e-board communication templates for specific types of postings

 

The intern will also learn about other aspects of HR Ops, to include Security and Policies as well as be exposed to other areas of the HR department (Total Rewards, Employee Relations, Talent Development and Talent Acquisition).

 

The HR Ops Intern will be involved with two major company events (Company Picnic and Employee Summit).  The intern will handle schedule coordination for all summer interns and ensure both events are fully staffed.

Internship Goals:

  • Event Management
    • The intern will gain an understanding of event management and the many facets of planning and executing two company events, the Family Picnic and Employee Summit.
  • Budgeting
    • The intern will learn how to work within set budgets for these two events. 
  • Enhance Communication Skills
    • Communication skills will be broadened by working on presentations, newsletters and internal employee communications. 

Internship Requirements:

Academic Year: Junior or Senior

Area of Study: No Preference

Preferred GPA: 3.0+

Software Experience: MS Office Suite and Teams

Internship Information:

Work Hours: 8:30am- 5:00pm

Department: Human Resources

Compensation: $20/hour
