About You

You partner with management and senior leadership to drive and develop the human capital strategy within your assigned business units. You serve as the primary point of contact for day‑to‑day support, coaching, and guidance for both managers and employees, addressing a wide range of human‑resources‑related matters within your designated business units.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Builds data driven human resource strategies aligned with the BU strategy.
  • Strategies must consider the safety, security and continued development of STIHL employees.
  • Partners with human resources centers of excellence to develop these strategies.
  • Regularly meets with management to assess and discuss appropriate human resources strategies designed to improve employee engagement, retention, talent acquisition, and other human capital challenges. Also ensures compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains competency of each business unit’s annual goals and mid-range plans, including BU manager performance goals, in order to facilitate long-term staffing, succession planning, and personnel development.
  • Conducts thorough and objective internal investigations relating to sexual harassment claims, discrimination, and any other claims of unlawful/unethical treatment.
  • Promotes an issue free environment through regular, deliberate communications and trainings and by maintaining positive relationships with both management and employees. 
  • Handles all employee relations issues such as counseling, dispute resolution, terminations and performance improvement plans.
  • Assists management in the effective administration of the organization's HR systems, tools, and practices.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.
  • Assumes additional related responsibilities as needed.

Specifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 6+ years of related experience preferred.
  • HR certification 
  • Performs work with a high degree of latitude. Handles the most complex issues and problems and may consult with higher-level staff as needed.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Access Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Possesses expert knowledge of subject matter.
