Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Supports the assembly department with design, debugging, troubleshooting and continual improvement of production assembly equipment and methods.
- Programs, configures and develops sequence of operation for PLC programs on new and existing assembly equipment.
- Completes electrical, pneumatic, hardware and software control design for new and existing assembly workstations, auto stations and light automation machines.
- Conducts analysis of and implements vision-based monitoring systems.
- Recommends, designs and implements techniques that enhance design performance, reduce cost and improve assembly processes and quality.
- Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Manages multiple engineering projects simultaneously with limited supervision within defined timelines.
- Assumes additional related responsibilities as required.
- Provides 24-hour emergency engineering support via on-call or on-site assistance as required.
Specifications
- Associates degree in Electrical or Electronics design or repair.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred).
Minimum of 5 years' experience with the following in a high-volume manufacturing environment:
- PLC & HMI Programming (Siemens S7 200 & S7 300 PLC preferred.
- Electrical schematic drawings (AutoCAD Eplan or similar)
- Electrical panel design and build
- Pneumatic design and build- Vision systems deployment
- Participation and knowledge of quality systems and lean manufacturing and initiatives.
- Proficient work experience utilizing Microsoft Office applications.
- Programming of FANUC robots (preferred).
