About You

This individual will lead design and engineering of state-of-the-art wheeled goods for the lawn and garden sector, with an emphasis on mowers and other products for the US market.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive research and analysis to capture customer preferences, industry trends, and compliance with US-specific regulations.
• Collaborate closely with global R&D teams to share insights, standardize design processes, and leverage collective expertise to enhance product and service offerings.
• Employ advanced design tools to create precise designs, models, and technical drawings, ensuring compatibility with company design standards.
• Provide leadership during design reviews, risk assessments, DTC workshops and troubleshooting sessions, incorporating global feedback and best practices.
• Oversee the entire product development lifecycle from concept to market introduction and serial maintenance, ensuring seamless integration with global product strategies.
• Champion continuous improvement in design engineering and project management processes, integrating global perspectives and innovations.
• Coordinate with international suppliers, manufacturing partners, and internal teams to ensure product specifications meet global quality and performance benchmarks.
• Manage cross-functional project teams, fostering a collaborative environment that bridges time zones and cultural differences.
• Develop project plans that include schedules, budgets, and resource allocations, adjusting as necessary for project success on a global scale.
• Prepare, present to stakeholders and maintain comprehensive project documentation, aligning with global documentation standards and requirements.
• Lead product testing and validation activities to guarantee compliance with performance criteria, durability standards, and safety regulations across different markets.
• Act as a company ambassador in international forums, trade shows, and client interactions, showcasing technical leadership and product advancements. Stay abreast of technological developments and industry trends through global workshops, professional publications, and networking

Specifications

•  Bachelor’s degree in mechatronics engineering or a closely related field; Master’s degree preferred
• Proven project management skills with a track record of successfully bringing complex products to market
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Creo, Windchill) and engineering simulation tools
• Strong understanding of the manufacturing processes relevant to outdoor power equipment
• Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills, with the ability to manage and motivate cross-functional teams
• Knowledge of the US market regulations and standards for lawn and garden equipment.
• PMP certification or equivalent is highly desirable
• Ability to travel to supplier sites, manufacturing facilities, and customer locations as required. 
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering, with a focus on lawn and garden equipment, outdoor power tools, or similar wheeled goods
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
