Internship Summary:

STIHL Inc. has a full time opening for an OEM/ Forestry Assistant Buyer Intern in our Purchasing Department.

Duties are to assist buyers for the OEM and Forestry team in an effort to better organize our work efforts and ensure internal compliance.

Projects:

• Contract, NDA, and Schedule agreement document relocation from internal electronic files to our SAP C1 electronic contract depository.  This is a new global  requirement that is a prerequisite for our S4 HANA project launch.
• Evaluate the financial effectiveness of current business models for STIHL inc. Forestry distributors.  Determine if there is added profitability for the company if we assimilate this business into our internal distribution system.
• Forestry and accessories supplier mapping exercise (tiers 1, 2, and 3) inclusive of supply chain agility, associated risks, and total cost of ownership.

Internship Goals:

• To develop and understand the STIHL Inc. purchasing departments procedural and operational systems and how they are designed to promote success within a global matrix organizational structure.
• Sharpen skills related to researching, analyzing, and communicating how to prepare a business case including total cost of ownership.
• Finish the internship with an understanding of the benefits of long term relationships with your supply base and costs as well as risks associated with changing suppliers.

Internship Requirements:

Academic Year: Junior or Senior

Area of Study: Supply Chain Management or Engineering

Preferred GPA: 3.5+

Software Knowledge: SAP, Microsoft Suite
