About You

Performs a variety of Engineering work in planning, designing, and modifying fixtures, tools, and manufacturing processes to support the Department standards. Resolves production problems and completes documentation on assigned parts to improve the efficiency of Assembly equipment and processes by studying and applying generally accepted engineering methods, and reporting on findings.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Determines and troubleshoots manufacturing processes and equipment at all levels of complexity (robotics, automations and manual stations).
  • Identify, lead, and implement, process and equipment improvements, and update operator instructions to reflect changes. 
  • Addresses and documents cause and corrective action issues to prevent future problem occurrences.
  • Establishes manufacturing standards for equipment and process for the Department.
  • Engineers tools, fixtures and gauging modifications.
  • Designs and implements quality improvement systems and error-
    proofing.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintains and updates tooling drawings using Solidworks.  
  • Responsible for training Operators, Maintenance and Engineering Technicians on equipment and processes. Coordinates part inspection procedures with Quality Engineers.
  • Develop, design, and specify process equipment as required by the development programs undertaken by the department.
  • Coordinate day to day issues and project work such as equipment receipt and installation with the maintenance staff.
  • Provide management with engineering drawings of new and proposed projects, plant layouts, and equipment modifications.
  • Conduct time studies to continually expand and improve product cost standards.  Calculates cost savings and makes
    recommendations based on analysis. 
  • Generate cost data and oversee the documentation of project activities.
  • Upon implementation, provide required support to production personnel for system acceptance.
  • Assure projects meet safety, OSHA, and environmental requirements, and train operators on equipment and processes.
  • Assumes additional related responsibilities as needed.

Specifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering or related discipline preferred.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in setting up and/or troubleshooting:
    • Indurtrial robots (preferably Fanuc)
    • PLC's (preferably Siemens)
    • Vision systems (preferably Keyance)
  • Travel up to 5%
