About You
You are a driven sales leader who excels at boosting product and parts sales, aligning operations to meet business goals, and organizing effective sales meetings and events.
Purpose
To plan, direct, and coordinate the sales of STIHL products, parts, and accessories. To coordinate sales operations with other branch functions to meet business goals. To plan, organize and implement sales meetings or other events.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Directs staffing, training and performance of Technical Service Specialists, Dealer Support Specialists and Territory Managers.
- To ensure maximized sales potential in each territory.
- Provides guidance to Territory Managers regarding sales techniques or administrative tools to improve sales results.
- Coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals, and advises dealers and internal Territory Managers concerning sales and advertising techniques.
- Assigns sales territory to sales personnel.
- Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and to assist dealers in promoting sales.
- Visits dealers to further develop dealer relationship to market any upcoming promotions or targeted items.
- Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates, and develops sales campaigns to accommodate goals of STIHL.
- Analyzes and controls expenditures of Territory Managers to ensure conformance to budgetary requirements.
- Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume and potential sales.
- Participates in overall branch management through providing counsel and input to Directors, Branch Operations.
- Recommends overall sales strategies and develops plans to implement strategies.
- Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product.
- Plans and coordinates sales meetings.
- Assists with planning and coordination of dealer incentive trips and meetings and/or other promotions.
- Assumes additional related responsibilities as needed.
Specifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years of related experience preferred.
- Performs work under minimal supervision.
- Handles complex issues and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Basic Microsoft software knowledge, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be comfortable developing and delivering presentations.
- Basic SAP experience preferred.
- Must be able to travel 5+ consecutive days per year by road and/or air.
