Dealer Support Specialist

This position will primarily support new dealer development by implementing key staff training in the areas of sales & service, key initiatives and sales & marketing programs. Additionally, will promote the safe application and use of STIHL products and to further enhance and support sales and service as well as evaluate existing dealer’ sales & service facilities and to recommend and assist in the implementation of improvements.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinates training and support needs of all new dealers with Manager.  Provides training for STIHL products, parts, accessories, electronic B2B initiatives, iCademy®, Service Advantage and other merchandising programs. 
  • Provides management feedback regarding dealer sales potential, branch support, programs, and marketing support.
  • Ensures that issues and requests emanating from training sessions are addressed.
  • Develops and implements training programs for new and existing dealers; the programs will address STIHL and Branch policies, procedures and programs, as well as all STIHL products
  • Assists Territory Managers, Merchandising Manager and Sales Manager with design and implementation of service and shop area merchandising support.
  • Attends trade shows and other customer-specific events to promote positive customer relationship between STIHL, dealers and end-users.
  • Develop and conduct training programs and product demonstrations for dealers and specific end users.
  • Assumes additional related responsibilities as needed.

Specifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical education or training is a plus.       
  • 3+ years of related sales experience.            
  • Proficient in Microsoft office software, including Word, Excel, Power Point & Office.   
  • Verbal and written communication skills.                     
  • Minimum of 3-4 days per week of overnight travel by road and/or air.     
  • Frequent bending, lifting/moving up to 50 lbs., reaching, standing, and walking.
  • Must currently live or be open to relocating to an area within Southern California.
