Technical Service Representative

Purpose

STIHL is seeking a Technical Service Representative who is passionate about handheld outdoor power equipment to join our Technical Services Team at STIHL’s corporate headquarters in Virginia Beach!

 

This person will provide direct assistance to STIHL dealers and end users concerning: product troubleshooting guidance, repair guidance, warranty determination support, product application support, customer satisfaction assurance, and general customer service topics.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide high level technical support to dealers via phone, email or web chat.  Includes technical troubleshooting, diagnostic and repair support of the full STIHL product range and associated systems.
  • Provide technical support for end users via phone, email, web chat.  Includes full range product support including product selection, product application support, product maintenance, conflict resolution and all other possible customer satisfaction topics.
  • Maintain activity log in CRM to assist with identifying product issues or training opportunities.
  • Participate in team training sessions and meetings to ensure product knowledge is up to date.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
     

Specifications

  • Associate’s degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Work experience in an outdoor power equipment dealer required.
  • 3+ years working as a technician (preferably on outdoor power equipment) required.
  • End user professional experience (landscaper, arborist, etc.) preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of STIHL products and common applications required.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts to dealers and end users required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required – this job is the voice of STIHL to our customers.
  • Occasional trips (1-2 trips per year, 2-4 overnights per trip) to US branches and distributors required.
