Are you passionate about talent development and eager to make a difference in the lives of high school students? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Talent Development Intern, where you'll play a key role in the planning, coordination, and execution of the 2025 Manufacturing Technology Summer Camp.

 

About the Camp: The Manufacturing Technology Summer Camp is designed to expose high school students to modern-day manufacturing. Through hands-on activities and interactive sessions, students will gain valuable insights into the industry and explore potential career paths.

 

Internship Responsibilities: As a Talent Development Intern, you will assist with various aspects of the camp, including but not limited to:

  • Outreach and Fundraising: Reach out to local businesses for scholarship donations to support our campers.
  • Communication Management: Serve as the main point of contact and manage communication for all interns.
  • Budgeting Activity: Create and facilitate the budgeting activity session for campers.
  • Facilitator Support: Work with camp facilitators to ensure facilitator guides are updated.
  • Logistics and Setup: Assist with logistics and setup for the camp, including catering, forms, reporting, coordination and purchasing of supplies, creating notebooks for campers and coaches, and purchasing gifts for judges and coaches.
  • Coordination of Angel Investors: Reach out to and coordinate STIHL leadership to participate as angel investors for camp teams.
  • Training: Attend a train-the-trainer session to prepare for your role.

Internship Goals:

As a Talent Development Intern, you will have the opportunity to achieve the following goals:

  • Develop Comprehensive Training Guides: Learn how to create detailed facilitator guides for training sessions, ensuring clarity and effectiveness.
  • Professional Communication: Master the art of professionally communicating with local businesses to solicit sponsorship dollars, enhancing your networking and fundraising skills.
  • Event Planning and Logistics: Gain hands-on experience in the logistics involved in planning and organizing large events, from coordination to execution.
  • Training Facilitation Skills: Learn how to properly facilitate a training session by:
    • Understanding adult learning theory principles.
    • Defining and distinguishing between verbal and nonverbal communication.
    • Demonstrating active listening proficiency.
    • Grasping the significance of communication tone.
    • Recognizing the importance of interpreting group dynamics.

Internship Requirements:

Academic Year: Sophomore or above

Area of Study: Business, Education, Communication

Preferred GPA: 3.0 or above

Software Experience: PowerPoint, Canva, Outlook

Internship Information:

Work Hours: 8:30am-5:00pm

Department: Human Resources

Compensation: $20/hour
