Internship Summary:

The focus of this internship will be assisting the SQE and Incoming Inspection department by:

  • Creating a Work Function Protocol (WFP) and Process Maps​
    • Create Process Maps of SQ practices​
    • Create WFP’s for SQ processes. ​
    • Document training, best-practices, how-to, quick tips, etc…​
    • Integrate to Sharepoint and Teams​
  • Process Improvements / Maintenance​
    • Supplier ISO Certification Verifications​
    • Assist with Supplier selection audits, (reporting, following, …), planning, agendas, …​
    • Review inspection plan accuracy ​
  • Problem Solving​
    • Assist SQ with failure analysis, coordinate containment activities​
    • Testing, measurements, and assembly trials​
    • Support in data-heavy tasks (collection, entry, and analysis) ​
    • Create charts, templates, flow charts for standard and clear communication of information​
  • Inspection Planning​
    • Review existing inspection plans to increase efficiency​
    • Alignment of skip frequencies with regard of Supplier Risk​
  • Measurement System Analysis (MSA) in support of current projects​
  • Design measurement fixtures in SolidWorks​
  • Organize equipment location for efficiency
    • Review Hänel-Lift equipment​ for space optimization
  • Incoming Inspection Mating Part
    • Analyze requirements for mating part test

Internship Goals:

  • Develop understanding of supplier quality processes
  • Develop an understanding of Structured Problem Solving 
  • Use data / metrics / key indicators to develop priorities and solutions 
  • Analyze measurement process to identify and execute improvements

Internship Requirements:

Academic Year: Any

Area of Study: Engineering

Preferred GPA: 3.2+

Software Experience: Microsoft Excel, Power BI, SAP, SolidWorks

Internship Information:

Work Hours: 8:30-5:00pm

Department: Supplier Quality

Compensation: $20/hour
