About You:

This individual will be the expert for the user interface and user experience, focusing on conversion rate optimization through a test and learn and data-driven approach.  By identifying opportunities in the customer experience, you can help determine whether to build or buy, and how the enhancements fit within the tech stack.  You’ll be defining business requirements and responsible for prioritization and ROI of the IT spend related to the ecommerce part of the business, working in close collaboration between business and technology.  Just at STIHL is known for quality in its physical products, you will make STIHL’s digital products the benchmark.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to create the future state of the customer experience across the digital consumer decision journey – including initial consideration, active evaluation, moment of purchase, post purchase, and the loyalty loop.  
  • Able to understand the business priorities based off of consumer benefit, P&L impact, complexity, time, cost, etc.
  • Strong judgment and ability to create and implement frameworks which help align various priorities of the organization into a cohesive vision and strategy.
  • The product leader will define the requirements and communicate them effectively across different audiences.  
  • This person will work closely with global and local colleagues to drive the implementation, being well versed in Agile Product development, Program Increments, sprints, etc.
  • This leader should understand how business decisions could drive tech complexity, be able to find simple solutions to challenging problems, and drive the discussion with experts across the organization.
  • This person will be a go-to for best practices.  
  • This person will have a strong acumen for design and design thinking.
  • This person will also develop a testing platform and robust process of hypotheses, regular tests, evaluation and implementation. 
  • If some technologies need to be outsourced, this person will work in collaboration with procurement / purchasing and global teams on RFP processes and up to implementation / hypercare.
  • Good negotiation skills and scope requirements are needed.
  • Manages the budget, including annual plan and spend.
  • Optimizes the ROI on that investment.


  • Bachelor's degree; preferred in the areas of marketing, design, digital, IT, or business-related fields
  • Ownership – ability to influence and lead starting with “why”

  • 3 – 5 years experience required; preferred 1+ years should be related to merchandising at a retailer, brand, or agency
  • Travel required up to 25%
