STIHL Inc. is seeking a Sales Assistant to support the Sales Department and/or Product Management team in all aspects of sales administration, market research and training support. This person will also provide administrative, analytical support and technical support for various sales functions as well as maintain, process and analyze business processes and systems.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • To create and produce various sales reports and spreadsheets on a regular or ad hoc basis. May be required to analyze the report results and create written analysis to accompany the statistical information. Distributes reports as directed in a timely fashion after obtaining proper approvals to do so.
  • Monitors and reports on the competitive market practices.
  • Provides clerical and administrative support for specific departmental activities, including meetings, recordkeeping, training endeavors (i.e. Platinum & Gold classes), data verification and support and other activities and projects as assigned. 
  • May be responsible for coordinating and initiate the Sales & Marketing portion of the “New Hire Orientation”.
  • Prepares formal presentation materials including power point computer presentations, sales materials for meetings. May assists other departments in product management functions including product knowledge and specification inquiries, product preparation and assembly, and safe product usage.
  • Assists with national or regional trade shows, sales meetings, photo shoots and training events and supports the branches in the areas of technical sales or service as needed.
  • Assume additional related responsibilities as needed.

Specifications

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1+ years of outdoor power equipment experience preferred.
  • Basic computer and Microsoft software knowledge, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once with excellent follow-through and follow-up skills.
  • Must be able to travel 5+ consecutive days per year by road and/or air.
  • Valid driver’s license required with capability to drive a truck and trailer combination.
  • Visual and Hearing acuity.
  • Lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds frequently and lifts and/or moves with mechanized assistance up to 100 pounds occasionally.
