SAP Business Systems Analyst

This individual will develop and configure SAP to meet business needs. They will identify and analyze business needs, conducting requirements gathering, and defining scope and objectives for SAP modules and integrated applications, processes, and data. They will make recommendations for solutions or improvements to business processes that can be accomplished through SAP modules. Additionally, they will research business requirements, developing detailed specifications and validate SAP solutions with business stakeholders.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Hands-on expertise in configuring SAP FICO modules, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Assets, Product Costing, Material Ledger, COPA and Credit Management, with detailed knowledge of SAP ABAP programs, function modules, SAP scripts, User Exits, ALE, and IDOCs.
  • Developing and implementing SAP configuration, best practices, processes, and standards and communicating those plans to Senior Management.
  • Supporting application testing, deployment, maintenance and enhancement activities by correcting configuration and responding to scope changes and application enhancements.
  • Analyzing and troubleshooting complex and multi-dimensional problems with business end users and/or other IT professionals
  • Communicating business stakeholder needs to the SAP development team by interpreting the business requirements and translating them into SAP technical requirements
  • Researching business requirements, developing detailed functional specifications, and validating the SAP solutions with business stakeholders.
  • Identifying and analyzing business needs, facilitating workshops to conduct requirements gathering and defining scope and objectives with business stakeholders
  • Making recommendations for solutions or improvements to business processes that can be accomplished through a SAP module and/or new technology or alternative use of existing technology and communicating those solutions to Senior Management/Executives
  • Coaching, reviewing, and delegating work to lower level professionals
  • Leading business process integration and testing across SAP modules and external applications. Developing test scenarios, test scripts and performing end-to-end testing.

 

Specifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Information Systems related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • 7+ years of experience in supporting software development life cycle and methodologies for enterprise applications.               
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing, distribution or logistics environment.                   
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with relational databases, programming and development.  
  • SAP FICO Certification required
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft software, including Excel, PowerPoint, Access & Visio.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience leading medium size projects preferred.
  • Some travel required as dictated by business requirements (approximately 2+ weeks per year).
