Manager, Branch Planning

Purpose

To provide leadership and operational support for all things related to field demand planning / inventory optimization, branch material   master data / purchase order management, and branch administrative support.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day priorities and duties of the branch planning and administrative team including hiring, training, counseling, work assignments, evaluating performance and employee relations.
  • Focus on branch planning systems (MLE, A3, MRP), order fulfillment, and process maximization.  Eliminate redundancies, streamline manual work, and improve on statistical modeling efforts.  Analyze current business processes and recommend / implement changes as needed.
  • Work with IT, distribution, and Germany on efforts to harmonize applications and ensure data integrity.  Responsible for certain master data for US21 - US26.  Supports the branch master data specialist in ensuring data integrity and maintaining processes to support data quality with focus on planning and MRP.
  • Responsible for optimizing field stock, improving customer forecast quality and supply chain speed.  Considers future platforms, technologies, and enhancements to systems for continuous improvement.  
  • Involved in the annual budget and monthly operational planning process.  Plays a key role in the development of branch annual sales plans.  Works closely with branch management to derive an optimal sales/purchase plan.
  • Responsible for branch procurement of finished goods and spare parts from STIHL Incorporated as well as certain outside vendors. 
  • Responsible for various reports related to branch/distributor planning and sales results including the Branch BW and the distributor scorecard and availability reports.  
  • Involved in communication with relevant departments regarding forecasting, field stock, purchase plans, product availability, branch master data, and branch administrative support.
  • May be assigned to assist with routine functions or work on special projects.
  • Maintain proficiency in system applications by attending seminars or training courses as required.  Some travel required.
Specifications
  • 4 year degree in related discipline or equivalent technical experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • SAP coursework and technical training preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
