Mechatronics Technician

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Performs complex tasks required to maintain equipment functionality and minimize downtime. Uses advanced knowledge of PLC/CNC/HMI and motion control and robot software to troubleshoot equipment and make repairs. Uses advanced knowledge of PLC to perform programming functions as required. Identifies trouble areas and determines corrective action. Observes electro-mechanical and hydraulic devices in operation. Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts or to locate and adjust wiring, tooling, fittings, etc that do not reconcile to schematics and drawings. Sets up and programs and troubleshoots advanced control systems. Performs preventive maintenance to maintain equipment within manufacturer specifications. Disassembles equipment as required to replace defective components and return to an operational condition. Assists with lower level technicians, setting priorities and providing training as needed. Understands and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. Completes work in compliance with ISO 14001 and 9000, forklift training, and other safety training courses as prescribed. Must be available for emergency service during off hours. Maintains appropriate level of technical and professional skills by attending training classes, seminars, exhibits, and trade shows as needed. All work affecting product quality shall be competent on the basis of appropriate education, training, skills, and experience. Assumes additional related responsibilities as required.
