Manager, Brand Communications

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Works with the Director of Marketing on strategy and oversees brand and retail mass media, corporate and retail websites, related mobile and eCommerce communications, production, tactics and programs as well as the personnel responsible for them.
  • Ensures all brand and retail marketing communications comply with brand personality, logo and trademark requirements and corporate contractual agreements.
  • Contributes, as requested, to communications development for dealers and distributors, sales and marketing staff, corporate management and other appropriate personnel.  May include participation in planning, staffing, theming and presentation development for national sales, Branch, Distributor and other corporate meetings.  
  • Oversees the growth and task development of any/all direct reports.  Identifies and reviews progress with the Director of Marketing on a regular (minimum quarterly) basis.
  • Assists in the development of and compliance with appropriate department budgets.  Negotiates cost efficiencies with suppliers.
  • Coordinates tasks/projects among direct reports and various marketing communications, advertising and digital communications Agencies.  Monitors performance and fee structures.  Reports progress/challenges to Director, Marketing.
  • Oversees the production of national brand and retail (MAP) advertising campaigns through such media as television, radio, print, direct mail, digital (all forms) communications.  Markets and coordinates programs in conjunction with appropriate 
  • Agencies to keep Branches and Distributors informed/compliant.
  • Develops new sources of national brand and retail advertising and communications; negotiates with media representatives to evaluate and implement programs; monitors and applies emerging eCommerce internet strategies pertinent to STIHL.  
  • Works with S.I. Product Management and Germany (where necessary) to coordinate and implement the marketing communications portion of new product launches, product extensions and/or national promotions.
  • Works with appropriate S.I. staff and Agencies to quantify marketing return on investment via reportage including the bi-annual “Quantifiables” report.
  • All work affecting product quality shall be competent on the basis of appropriate education, training, skills, and experience.
  • Assumes additional related responsibilities as required.
     
Specifications

•    4 year college degree in related discipline preferred.
•    8+ years of related marketing experience.
•    Minimum of 5 days per month of overnight travel.
•    Competency in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint.
•    Occasional lifting, moving of up to 25 pounds.
•    Occasional participation in meeting set up and break–down.
