About You
This individual will develop new methods, techniques and improvements for all areas of production, including assembly, vibration welding, subassembly and polymers. They will conduct basic and advanced assembly engineering assignments for the production facility, including but not limited to the usage and deployment of Poka Yoke, smart tools, vision systems and advanced production verb agreement assembly error proofing, solve manufacturing problems, tooling designs, assembly machine designs and improvements. This individual will improve the efficiency of assembly operations by studying generally accepted engineering methods and reporting on findings regarding assembly and subsequent production operations.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Supports the assembly department with design, debugging, troubleshooting and continual improvement of production assembly equipment and methods.
- Programs, configures and develops sequence of operation for PLC programs on new and existing assembly equipment.
- Completes electrical, pneumatic, hardware and software control design for new and existing assembly workstations, auto stations and light automation machines.
- Conducts analysis of and implements vision-based monitoring systems.
- Directs and manages technical contractors and service providers how to complete projects, and verifies project specifications have been met.
- Recommends, designs and implements techniques that enhance design performance, reduce cost and improve assembly processes and quality.
- Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Manages multiple engineering projects simultaneously with limited supervision within defined timelines.
- Provides 24-hour emergency engineering support via on-call or on-site assistance as required.
Specifications
- 5 years’ experience with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering/Mechatronics (EET) or related discipline, or 7 years’ electrical engineering experience without a college degree
- Advanced knowledge of PLC programming and vision/inspection systems preferred.
- Mid-level electrical engineering experience
- Strong critical thinker, have problem-solving abilities, and be able to work independently.
- Able to communicate at different levels of the business.
- Proficient in HMI Design development implementation.

- Fanuc Robotics, integration, and modifications
