Director, Sales

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Develops strategy for and recommends improvements in all areas of responsibility to effect increased efficiency, profitability, market share, balanced product sales, and market segment development.  This includes responsibilities such as, but not limited to:

  • Monitoring and analyzing department progress vs. plans and budgets and industry developments
  • Developing and overseeing management of STIHL product training, new and existing product promotion efforts.
  • Preparing the Strategic, Capital, Operating and Sales plans annually  in conjunction with Sales Planning personnel.
  • Oversees the strategy, growth, and planning for e-commerce in partnership with our extensive dealership network.
  • Serving as the USA voice for founding company communications with respect to product management including product strategy
  • Directs and monitors the business unit/team managers within Sales and provides guidance regarding the coordination of department standards within overall company objectives. 
  • Manages all staff even if indirectly through subordinate managers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related discipline.
  • 12+ years of progressively responsible experience, including 5+ in team/department management..
  • Proven expertise in eCommerce.
  • Field travel expectations are one week per month.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Office, Excel and Power Point).
  • Must possess the ability to quickly identify problems, develop alternative solutions, and implement corrective action efficiently and effectively, in coordination and cooperation with the founding company.
  • Must have a proven track record of strong Interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Individual must have excellent planning, organization, project management skills, and follow-through abilities.
