Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Contribute to the success of the plant in all aspects as part of the local management team.
- Integrate the local R&D team into the global R&D initiative, establish & execute tasks and support the Germany team to fully harvest the potential of a local R&D US team.
- Support CRP/ part localization projects to realize cost saving goals.
- Expand the local product knowledge both within and outside the R&D team to facilitate effective problem solving on technical topics.
- Take responsibility for all local activities within OEM- and new development projects of battery products at STIHL Incorporated with strong focus on design related questions.
- Coordinate activities at STIHL Incorporated to merge product specifications for new products, to support relocation activities and to enhance manufacturing engineering.
- Support upcoming projects for the US. (Mowers, Battery products, Batteries)
- Responsible for competitor analysis, field and bench testing and data management.
Specifications
Education: Master Degree at an acknowledged university in electronics, mechatronics, mechanical engineering or related discipline
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Work experience in R&D Germany preferred
- Knowledge of product development process and project management skills
- Experince leading a team of 15+ people
- Intercultural sensitivity/understanding
- 3+ years of related experience in interdisciplinary project and design of parts
- Profound knowledge in established processes and tools (CAD, SAP, planning tools)
- Profound system understanding of complex mechatronical systems
- Self driven, structured, analytical and targeted way of working
- Sovereign communication skills with persuasive assertiveness on all levels and with external partners
