Mgr, Regional Sales


Through the leadership of a group of territory managers, to plan, direct, and coordinate the sales of STIHL products, parts, and accessories. To coordinate sales operations with other branch functions to meet business goals. To plan, organize and implement sales meetings or other events.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Directs staffing, training, professional development and performance of Territory Managers within the assigned region. Maximizes sales in each territory through Territory Managers.
  • Assists in sales analysis and formulation of policies, promotions and sales strategies. Implements these policies, promotions and strategies.
  • Maintains sales relationships with dealers; assists Territory Managers in marketing promotions and targeted product sales through merchandising, seasonal display, planogram, sales incentives, and directives.
  • Analyzes performance of individual territories, key markets, and key accounts to assist Territory Managers in growing sales through new account establishment and existing account growth. 
  • Reviews market analyses and reports to management regarding customer needs, volume potential, price schedules and discount rates. Assists in the development of sales campaigns.
  • Analyzes and controls expenditures of Territory Managers to ensure conformance to budgetary requirements.
  • Prepares routine and ad hoc reports regarding the region’s performance including sales projections for assigned territories.
  • Represents Company at trade association meetings, exhibitions, dealer open houses, etc. to promote product.
  • Plans and coordinates regional or branch sales meetings. Assists with planning and coordination of dealer incentive trips and meetings and/or other promotions.
  • Acts as liaison or main point of contact for large, multi-location dealerships that cross Territory Manager boundaries.
  • Works with Territory Managers on providing important and timely competitive information to Branch Management.
  • Assumes additional related responsibilities as required.
  • 4 year college degree in Business, Marketing or related discipline preferred.
  • 10+ years of related sales experience is preferred.
  • Prior Outdoor Power Equipment (OPE) experience preferred.     
  • Must have the ability to accommodate extensive overnight travel by road and/or air required as specified on an annual basis.
  • Strong oral, written, presentation and organizational skills are required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of tools is required.
  • Experience with CRM or equivalent call reporting software.
